Step light and maintain an even stride when the ice cracks under your feet. Most slush has firmed up, giving us anywhere from 3 to 5 inches of ice. There are pockets of thinly frozen slush with only an inch or two of ice under it. Keep an eye out for those. Spud bars are a must with the inconsistent ice right now. There’s nothing but favorable ice making conditions in the forecast the rest of this week. Some anglers launched out early today off the Days River Landing. More followed as the day went on.
