We’re expecting 1-3 inches of snow by tomorrow morning, followed by a couple of colder days with a slight warm-up on Friday and Saturday. This forecast should be favorable for Michigan’s Free Fishing Weekend when a fishing license is not required. Ice conditions remain excellent for the Cheniers Ice Fishing Derby on Saturday, February 15th. Registration for the derby closes on Thursday night at 9 PM, so don’t wait. Pressure cracks are passable in some areas depending on your mode of transportation. The bite is picking up and large numbers of walleye are cruising up the bay. Visiting from Owatonna, MN, Benjamin Highfield shared one of the reasons for taking a trip to Little Bay de Noc – nice fish, Benjamin!
