Friday was the perfect day to be on the bay. The high temperature of 42°F softened the snow and made it easier to get around, and the landings were as good as they get. With blue skies and the sun beating down, off came the layers and out came the sunscreen. There were a couple of T-shirt moments on the ice until chilling off at sunset. . Colder temperatures likely made things firmer out there today. I’m down the coast in Chicago until tomorrow night and haven’t been on the ice to know for sure. The intel I have is that the fish are finicky; you just need the right touch. Check out this 14” brick—a personal best, I hear. Way to go, Mason Marvin! Nice fish!
