Thicker Than Before

January 2nd, 2025

Many anglers are walking out and some light machines are moving about the upper bay.  Snowmobiles or walking are certainly the most favorable way to get across these pressure cracks. Ice is gaining thickness by the minute. A light flurry of snow today gave us a new look.  From glare ice to glare ice separated by ripples of drifted snow. This dusting won’t hurt traction and it’s not enough to insulate the ice from forming. Pressure cracks are definitely the main obstacles out there. Ice between them couldn’t be better. Proceed with extreme caution whether walking or running a machine approaching or crossing pressure cracks. Tonights pic is of one such pressure crack.

Increasing your odds,
