It’s Friday December 12th and not much to report that’s different from yesterday, but the ice is, on average, an inch thicker. Measuring no less than 6 inches of ice north of Gladstone. The cracks by the Days River landing and the Yellow Gate are looking better and only a foot or less high. The open water along pressure cracks Red and I encountered yesterday are now passable, with no evidence of them remaining… at least for today. A single-digit forecast will be working in our favor all weekend. Tonight’s photo is of the gauntlet over center reef. Cross gingerly or someone will likely get hurt.
