Blue skies, brilliant sunshine, and a crisp 15° to start the day—the perfect morning to set up a drop-down wagon for guests checking in this afternoon. With Valentine’s Day in mind, I invited Lacy to join me for what I knew would be a gorgeous morning on the ice. It turns out that shoveling snow to insulate around the shack wasn’t the romantic Valentine’s Day she thought we’d have. Tough start, I guess.
So, holding hands and gazing upon the splendor of the bay, we wrote a poem and a few haikus while ice shacks interrupted the sun’s rays, casting bold shadows upon the ice. Not! We’ve got anglers coming soon. I’ll cut holes, and you can dump the slush bucket outside. Thanks, sweetheart!
Before long, fog set in for a pea soup afternoon, until the sun broke through the moist air, and visibility was far and clear for a short time. Then, around sunset, the fog encapsulated the Bay once again. Similar to this morning, tomorrow will start with frost on the trees for what’s sure to be a beautiful visual at sunrise.
Increasing your odds,
-Blade
