Sticky Snow

You can’t ask for better ice conditions. Effortlessly travel by snowmobile, ATV, or UTV. The 4 inches of snow are handled well with tires or tracks. Machines have packed down thoroughfares off the landings. Once off the beaten paths to untraveled areas, you’ll be breaking trail with ease by machine. Tugging your shack or sled by hand will prove to a harder task. The wet snow, even absent of slush, likes to grab a sled like glue. A runner kit on the bottom and a Jay Rope from @jayoutdoorgear are a must. Jay Rope is a practical way of pulling a sled for ice anglers and also used as a safety implement for Hardwater anglers too. Of course Jay Ropes come in multiple colors and are available at Blade’s Bait & Tackle.

An observation from being out on the Bay daily: There has been a lot less trash left behind on the ice this season. I believe the conscious effort of anglers picking up after themselves and abundance of those of us looking for trash to grab when observing it seems to be making a difference. I haven’t found a single empty one pound propane can frozen in a fish hole yet. Thanks to anglers with a good conscience who contribute in keeping Little Bay de Noc clean for all to enjoy.

Increasing your odds,
