Little Bay de Noc ice conditions are in prime shape. It’s been over 15 years since this vintage blue ice shack’s presence has graced the Bay. Extreme hard water habits have forced us to evolve many times over the years, pursuing fish from on top of the ice. From hubs and flips to hard-sided permanent ice shacks like Blue, each had its place and purpose. While looking for a replacement for a favorite discontinued Clam, Lacy stumbled upon Canvas By The Stitch. Creators of the All Season Sport Trailer (A.S.S.T.), or drop-down covered wagons as I call them, this trailer was a giant leap in comfort and convenience. Scott and Tonya, proprietors of Canvas By The Stitch in Webster, Wisconsin, created the ultimate trailer system that goes way beyond the ice. For 15 years, I’ve towed everything one could imagine in these trailers. WILCrafts were transported 65 mph from St. Paul, Minnesota, one day to anglers out on the Bay the next. Our fleet sleeps and shuttles anglers on the ice. All the gear, brats, and beer are hauled out in the same wagon, called home while ice fishing Little Bay de Noc. Weighing 1200 lbs, it floats and can haul practically anything for ice fishing without a speck of road grime when you get there. That being said, nostalgia set in as conditions permitted, and thanks to a nagging wife, Ol’ Blue is once again on the Bay. Thanks for taking this photo of the haul out Marv!
