Free Under Flush

A little over half an inch of rain fell overnight on the Bay, turning some puddles into ponds, but not many. A noticeable increase in currents has been observed over the last several days. The rain, combined with warmer temperatures melting the U.P.’s hearty accumulated snowpack, has caused tributaries to move large volumes of water into the Bay. Two to four inches of slush and standing water covered the ice as conditions were checked late this morning. By 8 o’clock this evening, the temperature had dropped just enough to start a little toilet bowling, and there will likely be less standing water in the morning. Some snow managed to stick around, as seen in the picture from tonight. Should it not last, Tuesday and Wednesday’s forecast is calling for more.

Increasing your odds,
