Flying High

Today’s anglers on Little Bay de Noc basked in brilliant sunshine and just above freezing temperatures. The little bit of slush and little bit of water on the ice is about to go to the next level of slop with rain starting in the morning. Precipitation is predicted all day then turning to sleet and snow Friday. Slight amounts of snow will continue to fall into Saturday sometime. Ice is expected to remain in good condition with the exception of pressure cracks opening up with the warm weather. Tomorrow’s time on the bay will be spent checking for changes in these areas. Warm temperatures will retreat in exchange for some single digits lasting until the next warm spell over Christmas. An aerial shot taken today of the frozen bay is curtesy of Jake Van Effen. Thx Jake!
