7 inches of ice is about the average throughout the bay. The few inches of wet snow that fell today should freeze good in the overnight. Hopefully, we’ll be free of the cleats soon. If yesterday’s glare ice wasn’t bad enough. The wet snow made for slick travel without chains or a studded track. Tomorrow we’ll scout the bay by machine, drill some holes, check ice conditions and cracks.
