As of 10 o’clock this morning, the ice on the bay remains intact! The wind is whipping through the narrows but ice has held up incredibly well so far. Probably 500 yards of ice has retreated to the north past the green cans. The rest looks pretty good. No snow….Just glare ice as far as the eye can see. There is more than likely a couple open spots out there somewhere. Temps are going to dip below freezing around sunset today and our forecast says we’ll stay there for the next 7 days. Then it’s game on! I should have decent ice to walk out on to take some measurements tomorrow. 6-9 inches by Christmas would be a nice gift! I caught a picture of a couple otters running around by the Days River landing this morning. Bet THEY are on fish. I’ll keep you posted.

Increasing your odds,
