Just short of an inch of rain doused the Bay last night. The snow is gone, leaving water on top of the ice. The wind and the water made travel downright awful today, soaking wet right from the get-go. And the predicted wind advisory? Forecasters hit the mark on that one. Most of the afternoon, water was steadily swirling down holes in the ice. With any luck, that will continue tonight as we finally dip below freezing. Precipitation starts again before noon tomorrow, with 4 to 8 inches of snow expected by 7 o’clock Sunday morning. A front with favorable barometric pressure and temperatures in the 20s will move in. It’s an ideal time for ice angling Little Bay de Noc.
